how is drawing anime as a young artist any different than say if a young artist was introduced to something like my little pony or sonic and that’s the only style they drew in for a while

I am always highly amused when people say this, not realizing the number of amazing artists out there that started off drawing horrid fanart of shows like Sailor Moon.
Lots of kids learn art skills much more easily through cartoons because it breaks down anatomy and shading into basic shapes that they can identify more easily.
It’s totally ridiculous to blame anime for an artist that has no desire to try new things or strive to better themselves. A set of stylizations isn’t responsible for that.
Also, it IS persecutory to say that someone isn’t “drawing for real” because their art fits somewhere into the very broad spectrum that anime covers.
What if Hufflepuff is actually the stoner house at Hogwarts

I had written a long essay here that talked about my care for commissions but it ended up sounding like I was tooting my own horn. Yep. Soooo.

I’m going back in my photobucket and finding nice surprises. This was drawn roughly five days before or after Charlene(kitten in last post) as a commission for Kestrel @ Subeta.
